Some teeth cannot be saved with standard dental treatments. These teeth need to be removed with a surgical procedure.

Common reasons include deep decay, major cracks from injuries, or severe infections. Regular dental treatments may not help in these cases.

Wisdom teeth may need removal in the late teens or early 20s. Many mouths are too small for these extra molars. Wisdom teeth can grow sideways or get trapped under the gums. They might push against other teeth and cause pain. Quick removal stops these problems and keeps other teeth straight.

Luckily, your dentist can perform most extractions, when needed. He also uses advanced techniques like PRF therapy to promote faster and more comfortable healing after dental surgery.

Benefit From Implant Expertise
Benefit From Implant Expertise

Modern dentistry offers several ways to replace missing teeth, including dental implants.

In some cases, your jaw will require a surgical treatment to prepare you for implants.

Bone grafts make weak jaw areas stronger. They create a solid base for your replacement tooth roots. Special bone material fills in the thin spots in your jaw and encourages new bone growth.

A sinus lift may be needed if you are replacing upper back teeth. This procedure adds bone between the jaw and sinus area. The sinus membrane moves up to make space for new bone. After healing, dental implants can be added.

Implants work like natural tooth roots, holding your new teeth firmly in place. You’ll be able to chew and smile with complete confidence.

Get Better Surgical Results With Tissue Healing

Your own blood contains powerful healing elements that can speed up recovery after oral surgery. We use Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) — a special concentrate made from your blood — to boost natural healing. PRF releases growth factors that help your body repair tissue faster and more effectively. This means less discomfort and quicker recovery time after your surgical procedure.

When more extensive healing support is needed, we use carefully screened donor tissue. This tissue comes from a trusted tissue bank and undergoes rigorous safety testing. The donor tissue acts as a framework that guides your body’s natural healing process. It helps rebuild bone and soft tissue in areas that need extra support.

Both PRF and donor tissue provide excellent results for:

  • Dental implant placement
  • Bone grafting procedures
  • Tooth extraction sites
  • Gum tissue repair

Frequently Asked Questions About Oral Surgery

When would I need oral surgery?

Tooth extraction is often needed if a tooth is too damaged to repair or if it is damaging your other teeth. In some cases, you need to have teeth removed to make room for dental implants or another dental restoration. If necessary, we’ll recommend a bone graft to ensure your jaw is strong enough to support dental implants.

When can I exercise after oral surgery?

We recommend not exercising at all for the first 24 hours after oral surgery. Trying to do too much too soon can actually prolong healing. Vigorous exercise can loosen the blood clot on an extraction site and lead to a painful dry socket. For the next few days, a patient should limit activities to low-impact exercises as a precaution.

What can I eat after oral surgery?

We recommend that you eat soft foods and liquids for two or three days after your surgery. Yogurt, soup, pudding, ice cream, and protein shakes are all good choices. It’s a good idea to avoid spicy foods, acidic foods, crunchy foods, and tough-to-chew foods for a week or so.
